About the owner and founder of Wandering Travel Adventures: Courtney Davison!
Born in 1990, I am the oldest out of 4 siblings. I lost my dad when I was 14 and moved around a little bit, which has given me a lot of ambition.
I graduated high school in 2008, and then I did a semester of college at Athens Tech before being accepted into the Disney College Program. I finally got a degree at the age of 31 in Healthcare Management.
I am now a mom of 5, with 3 of those being biological and 2 being bonuses! My kids are my everything and the reason I make most of my decisions. I have a wonderful husband who supports me in everything I do, including my desire to be able to work from home in the future.
I absolutely love to travel, and I honestly like doing just about any kinds of travel. I love going to theme parks such as Disney or Universal, going to the beach and putting my toes in the sand, and I also love popping up my camper out on the lake and watch the sun set behind the mountains.
When I am just home wanting to relax, I love sitting back on the couch playing Minecraft while sipping on a glass of wine or sitting at the table and putting together a puzzle.
My story
I am not a picture perfect person nor do I want to seem like someone who is. You will see the REAL me through this website! And I absolutely cannot wait to help you with YOUR travel adventures!
So why did I choose travel you ask? There are honestly a couple of reasons.
My husband and my birthday are 4 days apart, so we always do something special to celebrate. One year, I decided to be sneaky and I planned an overnight getaway to Atlanta. BUT, it wasn’t just any trip, I got creative with it. I created what I now call, an Envelope Experience. He did not know where we were going until after he opened each envelope and arrived to the address that was on it. We had an absolute blast!
For spring break one year, we decided to do 4 beaches in 4 days on the Georgia coast. Now if you know anything about Georgia, it is not always very warm during our spring break, and that particular year, it was pretty chilly. So with that being said, we did not want to spend the entire time on the beaches. We went to Jekyll Island, Savannah, St Simons Island, and Saint Helena Island, SC. I had to keep us busy AND entertained, so I did a lot of research and found some really interesting historic places to visit, some beaches to go to when the weather was a little warmer, and some attractions to see. We had an absolute blast!
I was a wedding coordinator for a few years but hated missing out on family time. I absolutely loved the organization skills I was able to use and getting to meet new people. I decided to take what I was good at with coordinating weddings and use it for my newfound business.
I took all of the joys I got out of these reasons and decided to make a business out of it. They say if you find something you enjoy, you will never work a day in your life. This is exactly why I chose to go into the travel industry. I believe it is not something you just choose to make a career out of without having the love for travel in the first place. I absolutely love to travel and I do a lot of it, whether it be a day trip to a hiking destination, a weekend trip to my favorite camping spot, or a week to the beach. I am happier when I am one with nature and I want to take YOU on that journey with me!
